Lake Winnisquam is situated to the west of Lake Winnipesaukee and is the fourth largest lake in the state with 10.5 miles of coastline. Small inns are located around the lake as well as several private houses that owners rent out through the summer.
This pristine lake is in the northern Lake Region and is the second largest in the state. The 1981 film, "On Golden Pond," was filmed at this lake. Holderness is the largest town on the lake where the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is located. There are several lodging options on the lake ranging from luxurious resorts, bed and breakfasts to campgrounds.
Lake Wentworth delivers a true Americana experience with natural beauty, charming shops, friendly locals and beautiful accommodations. Family-run restaurants feature "order your own live lobster" dinners or you can cook your own seafood in your vacation home's kitchen. The lake is known for private cabin rentals with spectacular lake views. Several of the cabin rentals are located along the old railroad which serves as a walking and biking trail into downtown.
