Rodeo events, though they have little to do with gambling, are a large part of the Las Vegas gaming scene. Only one casino boasts a rodeo arena (South Point), but stand-alone event arenas spatter the map around popular Vegas tourist attractions. If you wish to find a rodeo or event center near your favorite casino, chances are that you will always be in luck.
The South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa is the only Las Vegas casino with its own rodeo arena (see References). The rodeo arena and equestrian center is located in the West Wing of the resort. South Point is located on Las Vegas Blvd. and E. Silverado Ranch Blvd., a mere two city blocks south of the Las Vegas Strip. South Point Arena & Equestrian Center holds events such as rodeos, gun shows, RV shows and sports clinics.
The largest annual rodeo event in Las Vegas, National Finals Rodeo (NFR), is held at the Thomas & Mack Center. NFR takes place only five miles north of the Las Vegas Strip. For 10 days each December, NFR hosts competitive riding, roping and racing for the nation's best rodeo athletes. Tickets are a hot item in Las Vegas and are available online from NFR (see References).
Helldorado Days is a popular rodeo event in Las Vegas that is held at the downtown rodeo arena by the Las Vegas Elk's Lodge No. 1468 (see References). The events and arena are about nine miles north of the Las Vegas Strip. Lodging and gambling are available at the event's host hotel, El Cortez.
Since gambling is legal in Las Vegas, many institutions that do not consider themselves casinos, like arenas or event centers, still include casino gambling stations, such as slot machines. Tourism websites can give you more information on the best places to find gambling throughout the city (see Resources).
