Known as the "Sparkling City by the Sea," Corpus Christi is a south Texan city sitting right on the Gulf of Mexico. Their large, covered outdoor patio with barbecue pit is perfect for catching gulf breezes and even allows smoking. The Hidden Door also recently opened a lounge upstairs called the Loft, which caters to a quieter crowd and has a pianist every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Inspired by the French Quarter of New Orleans, Get Happy! is an upscale bar with pool tables and dartboards. The jukebox is loaded with classic rock, but karaoke lovers can sing their hearts out to anything on Wednesday and Saturday nights. Get Happy! offers nightly drink specials and is open from noon until two o'clock in the morning every day.
The Rose is a mostly lesbian bar known for its free weekly poker tournaments. The Rose hosts a dart league twice a week on its electronic dartboards, as well as Pot Shoot events two nights per week. It offers drink specials and guest DJs that vary depending on the day. The Rose also takes reservations for birthday parties. It is closed on Mondays.
Situated in downtown Corpus Christi, Sixx is a popular dance club catering to a gay and lesbian crowd. The club is two-stories tall and boasts an enormous patio where DJs spin tracks and move the crowd. Sixx is only open from Wednesday through Sunday, and frequently hosts drag shows on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
