Henderson is a Nevada city located about a 20-minute drive from Las Vegas. Kids ages 1 to 7 can attend Musikidz, located in the Silver Springs Recreation Center. Classes in Musikidz are taught by a licensed educator who will engage your preschooler in instrument exploration, musical story time, interactive songs, pretend play and development for future learning. Starting at age 5, kids can participate in the dance and creative movement classes. Each session lasts 45 minutes and a fee is paid per class.
Preschoolers can learn to swim skillfully and safely with the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Program. For kids ages 3 to 5 years, Preschool Aquatics is a class where preschool-age children arethat introduces the aquatic environment. The swim instructor teaches water safety and basic aquatic skills that are developmentally appropriate. One-on-one, private swimming lessons with a trained instructor are also offered for kids of all ages. Each 30-minute lesson may be customized to meet the learner's needs. Jr. Kids Zone is a seasonal all-day program held on weekdays specifically for preschoolers. Located in Silver Springs Recreation Center, preschoolers who have not yet attended kindergarten or who are currently enrolled in kindergarten will enjoy supervised activities such as arts and crafts, games, sports and circle time. The cost of attending the classes is based on prices for a whole week for one child, two children or three children. A fee per child for a day of activities is available.
Paseo Verde Library, winner of Nickelodeon Parents and Preschool Network's 2008 "Parents' Picks" for the best library for kids, offers activities for preschool-aged children. The indoor activity, "Picnic and a Movie" is held the second Monday of each month. Pack your preschooler a snack as you both watch a movie. "Pre-School Storytime," for kids ages 4 to 5 years and "Pajama Storytime" and "Drop-In Storytime" are for kids of all ages.
