Antioch, Illinois is in the state's Lake County and it lives up to its name. Numerous beaches are in the Antioch area as it is dotted with lakes. Not all have beachfront open to the public, though, as is the case with Antioch Lake and Cross Lake. The nearby Chain O'Lakes State Park also has no beaches. However, many other beachfront options are nearby.
The Lake Marie Campground is located along Lake Marie on the southwest corner of Antioch. In addition to recreational vehicle camping during the warm season, the campground features a pier into Lake Marie and a sandy beach.
Cedar and Deep lakes are located alongside each other four miles south of Antioch in the small town of Lake Villa, Illinois. Each lake has a beach available for public access. Cedar Lake features a picturesque bog on its western banks.
Antioch is located along Illinois' border with Wisconsin, and over the state line are also many lakes with beachfront. Old Settlers Park on Paddock Lake, six miles north of Antioch, features a sandy beach as well as a playground, restroom and gazebo for gatherings.
Silver Lake Park is alongside the eponymous lake six miles northeast of Antioch in Wisconsin. Silver Lake Park has the largest sandy beach in the area, with a beach volleyball area and other amenities. In addition to the beach the park has 260 acres of forests and meadows for hiking.
