Trains conjure up all sorts of memories for people. Many remember the trains from their childhood, whether those trains were toys, models or the real deal.     • Choose the Ghost Train if you like to be scared just a little. This tour begins at Northwest River Park in Chesapeake and travels to haunted parks and woods. On this guided tour you will learn the symbolism of tombstones and hear both ghost stories and stories that maybe have a little bit of truth to them. The Ghost Train tour may not be suitable for young children. You must have reservations for this tour, and you can call for dates and times of the tours. Tickets cost $18 to $20 as of 2010. The tours usually last for about three hours.

    Eastern Shore Railway Museum

    • Visit the Eastern Shore Railway Museum, which is located in Parksley, Virginia. Parksley is located between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors to the museum can see antiques, experience life in a booming railway town and take a ride on a vintage train. You can choose from one of three different trains to ride on to tour the picturesque town. The museum is full of memorabilia from the 1800s. This train tour is child- and family-friendly.
