Texas Car Shows & Rod Runs

Texas plays host to many car shows and rod runs every year. Car enthusiasts will find many exciting events taking place all over the state. These shows offer a wide variety of one-of-a-kind classics, muscle cars, rat rods and vintage cars. Almost all of the shows feature activities planned for the entire family. Many of the shows are billed as charity events, with the proceeds going for a good cause.

  1. Heartland Rod Run

    • A free car show in Brownwood gives away thousands of dollars in prizes each year. The festivities begin with a poker run for charity on Friday night. A major attraction of the run is the Saturday night cruise, which draws large, enthusiastic crowds. Brownwood is located only 85 miles from Fort Worth, in central Texas.

    Annual Corvette/Chevy Expo

    • Many automobile events take place in the Lone Star State, but the Corvette/Chevy Expo is the largest one held indoors. Car enthusiasts gather from all around the country for this annual event, featuring some of the best show cars in the state. Many activities are held during the Expo, including a swimsuit contest that is open to the public and a swap meet for Corvette and Chevy owners. There is a small admission fee, as well as a few to show cars.

    Red River Valley Honkers

    • The Red River Valley Honkers is a car club located in Paris, Texas. This civic-minded organization hosts a Classic Car Show/Swap Meet and an Arts and Crafts show each year. These classic-car owners are dedicated to keeping their vehicles as original as possible, but do add any necessary safety equipment. Once a month, the club takes the cars on a tour of nursing homes and retirement centers, where seniors can enjoy the old rides.

Keels & Wheels Concours d' Elegance

    • An event held each year at the Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, Texas, attracts attendees from all over the United States and Europe. The owners of these luxury cars and boats are dedicated to preserving these classics for future generations to enjoy. All owners are invited to show off their prized possessions and are treated as honored guests. The cars are divided into 40 classes. This charity event benefits the Boys and Girls Harbor in Seabrook. General admission tickets for the public are available as well as packages featuring all the events.
