The Grand Canyon is in northwest Arizona. The canyon is 277 river miles long, 18 miles wide, and 1 mile deep. Plenty of travel lodges are around the Grand Canyon as are a variety of small restaurants. You can take tours to the bottom of the canyon and stay at a lodge overnight in the canyon's belly. These tours must be booked in advance and you will ride burros to reach the bottom. Bring plenty of water if you plan on exploring the canyon.
Sedona is in northcentral Arizona. It is a ways off the main highway set amid beautiful red mountains and natural structures. Sedona is known not only for its natural beauty, but for the vortexes, which some people believe hold mystical powers. You can get a map of the vortexes from one of the many gift shops. The shops in Sedona sell all kinds of art and tourist-related items.
Flagstaff is in northern Arizona. It is set apart from other areas of Arizona because of its high altitude. Flagstaff has lots of evergreen trees and has the charm of a college town. It snows frequently in Flagstaff, and you can ski the slopes in the mountains of Flagstaff. The air is crisp and clean, making simply being in Flagstaff and enjoyable experience for any vacationer.
Jerome is high on a mountain in northcentral Arizona. It is small town that used to be a mining community. In the past several years, artists have moved to Jerome and set up shops. You can find unusual items browsing the stores in Jerome. The streets wind up through the mountain.
