Bars in Williams, AZ

Williams is a small city in southwestern Arizona. Located in Coconino County, the city owes much of its popularity to its close proximity to Grand Canyon National Park. The city is bustling in the summer and holiday months with tourists sometimes outnumbering actual residents. As a result of the city's heavy reliance on the tourism industry, there are a number of places to relax and have a drink that won't break the bank. The city is large for it's sparse population, nearly 45 square miles, and there are dozens of drinking establishments within the city's limits.
  1. Canyon Club

    • The Canyon Club is located in the center of the city on the world-famous Route 66. With a full selection of liquor and several domestic and international beers on tap, the Canyon Club is one of the more popular places to hang out after hours and have a drink. The only problem is you'll probably be fighting other tourists for a seat, but if you enjoy lively bars with a lot of people, Canyon Club is for you. The bar has daily happy hours from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and hosts live country and rock music on weekend nights. There are also several food choices available with mostly appetizers on the menu, but also some sandwiches.

    • Just a mile north of the Canyon Club, also on Route 66, is the Typhoon Saloon. This is another tourist-heavy spot, but the drink selection is worth it. There's live country music on most nights and the liquor selection is second-to-none in all of southern Arizona. If you're looking for hard drinks and fun times, the Typhoon Saloon is for you. Try any of the bar's signature drinks such as the Arizona Whiskey Sour or the Grand Canyon Collision. If you're looking for something a little less rustic and a little more comfortable to visitors of Arizona, this bar is for you.

    • If you're looking to escape all the tourists and travelers and want to see where real Arizonians enjoy themselves, make sure to stop into The Red Garter, a two-story bed and breakfast with an open bar in the lounge. The bar opened in 1897, and is now the oldest bar in the region. This two-story spot is a favorite among many. As a restored bordello, The Red Garter has countless stories and locals and employees will be happy to share many of them with you.

Because of the city's proximity to Grand Canyon National Park, many travelers who find themselves in Williams also find themselves making their way to the majestic gorge. At the Grand Canyon, there are rivers to canoe, trails to hike and picnic areas to relax. Go alone, with a partner, or bring the whole family, just make sure you go.
