Visit the Grand Canyon National Park's South Rim, the main tourist location for the Grand Canyon. You'll find ample parking and receive a map upon entry. The park spans several miles, and free shuttle service is available. Spend a day here or stay at one of the area lodges, but be sure to make reservations in advance, as accommodations are in high demand. Also enjoy several dining options and shopping as you walk along the rim.
The 12-mile Bright Angel Trail will take you deep inside the canyon. Whether hiking a couple of miles or journeying all the way to the Colorado River, bring an ample supply of water and plan your hike in advance so you can pack accordingly. Mule rides are also available.
If you're up for a drive or journey to another Grand Canyon marvel, Grand Canyon West is only a couple hours from Flagstaff. Walk the "Skywalk" for an unforgettable experience; the glass bridge is suspended 4,000 feet in the air over the Grand Canyon.
