Art Festivals in Indian Wells, California

Indian Wells prides itself on its artistic community and in addition to its abundant museums and galleries it also is home to a number of highly-popular arts festivals, which provide a market place for hundreds of artists and attract tens of thousands of visitors, annually.

  1. Indian Wells Arts Festival

    • This 3-day arts festival is held in the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, over the Easter period, and boasts work from over 200 artists. The festival also includes installations, demonstrations and exhibits. It is open to all disciplines of art, and visitors will find ceramics, glass and jewelry as well as paintings and drawings, available for purchase. There is an entry fee, but children under 12 may attend for free.

    La Quinta Arts Festival

    • Founded in 1982, the annual La Quinta Arts Festival is based at the La Quinta Civic Centre Campus and was voted one of the nation's top 10 arts fairs and festivals by American Style Magazine. The festival stretches over four days and is organised by the non-profit La Quinta Arts Foundation. Artists from a range of artistic areas, including photography, print making, jewelry, glass, ceramics, painting, drawing, sculpture and mixed media, will be in attendance. The event takes place in March. There is an entry fee to attend, but four day passes are available.

    Rancho Mirage Art Affaire

    • This two-day festival takes place in November and claims to mix "fine art...fine music...fine wine...fine food" at its venue. It has an attendance of between 8,000 and 10,000, according to Palm Springs Life. Over 100 artists and musicians attend the event, which is free and takes place at Whitewater Park.

    Southwest Arts Festival

    • This three-day festival was founded in 1986 and boasts 250 artists. Taking place in January, at the Empire Polo Club, the festival blends jazz music with food and art, which the organisers state includes "clay, craft, drawing, glass, jewelry, metal works, painting, photography, print making, sculpture and textiles."
