Indian Shores, a small beach community on Florida's Gulf coast, has sandy beach on one side and mangrove-lined bay on the other. On the beach side, cottages, hotels, and small condominiums house locals as well as vacationers. Since many of these cottages are privately owned, finding the best cottages in Indian Shores or any of the surrounding beach communities can take a little legwork. Realtors can offer limited help, as not all of these cottages get rented through real estate agencies.
In nearby Indian Rocks Beach, the Blue Heron Beach Cottage has two bedrooms on the beach. In this area, "on the beach" may not mean a water view, as there are several rows of cottages between the paved road and the water.
These two 1928 bungalows front the water directly in nearby Indian Rocks Beach. Both cottages have two bedrooms, an outdoor deck, and a path leading from the back door to the beach. Each cottage has a minimum seven-night stay and accepts certain small pets.
Indian Shores has fewer cottages for rent than neighboring Indian Rocks Beach, but this town has some cottages remaining interspersed with the condos. This cottage, one of seven, fronts the beach and has one bedroom only. The decor in this cottage is mostly wicker and it, like the others, comes complete with linens, appliances, and basic cooking equipment.
This group of cottages has some cottages fronting the beach and others with a tropical view, but all the cottages are on the sand. These cottages come with linens, cooking utensils, and appliances. These cottages also have a Jacuzzi, wireless Internet and an outdoor grill. All of these cottages are walking distance to restaurants and a drug store.
