Every city has its landmark bar and in New York, it may well be the King Cole Bar at the St. Regis Hotel. Named by 10Best.com as one of the ten best lounges in New York City and NY Magazine in 2004, the King Cole Bar is simply a legend. Tall ceilings tower over a solid oak bar, plush booths and velvet-covered walls where in 1934, the bartender invented the Red Snapper, a spicy Bloody Mary. A mural of Old King Cole adorns the wall behind the bar. It offers a diverse menu from oysters Rockefeller to 300-year old Remy cognac.

The Lenox Lounge promises a special night in Harlem where aficionados can savor traditional and modern jazz. The 2002 Zagat Survey Nightlife Guide voted it "Best of the Best" and since 1939, the memory of Miles Davis and Ella Fitzgerald blends with modern masters to attract a new crowd. As of October 2010, the cover fee is $10 to $25 depending on the venue. The art deco decor of the smaller Zebra room is ideal for cozy evenings and parties. The menu offers soul food such as yams, pork chops and collard greens.
