The Hudson Valley refers to the region of New York, spanning from Westchester County to the city of Albany along the Hudson River. While much of this part of New York is rural, cities like Poughkeepsie and Albany offer night life opportunities.
Many of the college towns in the Hudson Valley have a healthy night life scene. Towns like Purchase, New Paltz and Poughkeepsie, all home to colleges, offer bars and dance clubs for locals and visitors.
Another option for night life is visiting a microbrewery, where you can sample handcrafted beverages while socializing. Brown's Brewing Company in Troy and Defiant Brewing Company in Pearl River are two of many examples.
If drinking and dancing isn't your thing, many towns in the Hudson Valley offer concerts and other performances. For example, you can see stand up comedians at Banana's Comedy Club in Poughkeepsie, while the The Egg hosts concerts in Albany.
