    • You’ll relive the 1950s at Fuze Box in Albany. The club is in a former White Tower Hamburger restaurant and features a checkerboard dance floor, chrome accents and red booths found in diners. Most of the music is from the 1950s, and patrons often revive dance moves like the twist. You’ll see the occasional swing dancers as well. Fuze Box has '80s night every Saturday night.

    Blue 82

    • Blue 82 is an upscale and premier night club featured in the official Albany Visitor’s Guide. There is an oversized wall behind the bar that illuminates alternating patterns of hues of blue, purple and green. The focal point is chic and modern without distracting the patrons from the rest of Blue 82’s sleek interior. The drink menu is a little pricey, but there is a large selection of specialty martinis, wine, mojitos and spirits. The lounge plays hip hop, house and R&B music that is not so loud that it will drown out your conversation.

    Red Square

    • Red Square brings new artists and live entertainment to downtown Albany. You can find new rock, hip hop, electronica and R&B artists taking the stage each night in this relaxed night club. The bar serves imported and domestic bottled beer and microbrews such as Abita Purple Haze and Brooklyn Lager. Order a drink and sit on one of Red Square’s plush couches or outdoor patio. The club is open Tuesday through Saturday, and most shows are for 18 and older.

    Ballingers

    • This Latin Albany night club is in the former historic Ogden’s building that is more than a century old. Ballingers is a massive club with three floors and a deck. The main floor has Spanish decor and couches with over-sized wooden frames that set a contemporary tone. According to Downtown Albany, the club’s most impressive feature is its private patio that overlooks the Empire State Plaza.
