The city of Claremont, located about 30 miles east of Los Angeles, has developed into an ideal place to settle. In 2007, CNN Money named Claremont one of the top 100 best places to live in the country. Whether you're interested in the performing arts or the outdoors, you're sure to find something to do in this tree-filled city.
If you are a nature enthusiast, plan a visit to Claremont Hills Wilderness Park. Stretching across more than 1,600 acres, the park provides a chance for visitors to view the Angeles National Forest and Marshall Canyon. Although the land primarily constitutes a preserved wilderness area, you can enjoy a variety of activities at the park. Take a walk with your leashed dog, or challenge yourself with a long hike. You can also enjoy bike and horseback riding at the park. Be sure to check with the Claremont Fire Department before planning a visit to ensure that the park hasn't been temporarily closed due to fire danger.
