Organizations in Illinois offer a variety of sports camps, from swimming and water polo to wrestling and football. Both residential and day camps are available, and programs range in length from intensive one-day clinics to three-week-long camps. The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Illinois offers a wide variety of summer programs and sport clinics throughout the year for children between grades five and 12. Sports offered include basketball, tennis, soccer, gymnastics, wrestling, swimming and track and field. Many of the programs offer a coed option as well as boys- or girls-only camps. Programs range in length from single-day intensive clinics to two-week-long residential camps in the summer, throughout which campers reside in dormitories on campus. Some camps focus on a particular skill or technique involved in a sport. For instance, boys and girls may choose baseball camps that focus on hitting or defense camps to allow participants to hone in on their particular areas of interest, or children can enroll in both camps.

Revolution Field Hockey Camps are offered at various college campuses throughout the United States, including the Lake Forest College campus in Lake Forest. The program is four days in length and welcomes children and young adults between 10 and 18 years of age. The camps group campers according to current skill level, and each group learns and improves on strokes, rebounds, reverse flicks, free-hits, recovery, tackle and jabs, tracking, ball control, passing and receiving. Campers have a period of free time during each afternoon, throughout which they can relax in the college dormitories of go for a swim in the college's pool.

US Sports Camps offer a variety of summer sports camps with a number of programs available as both day and residential camps. Campers may choose from sports that include tennis, golf, volleyball, field hockey, lacrosse and football. The tennis program takes place on the 85-acre Bradley University in Peoria, where prospective campers can choose between a three-week program available to children of all skill levels and a four-day intensive tournament-training program that focuses on perfecting techniques and physical and competitive preparation. In the open program, campers focus on learning and improving fundamental techniques including ground strokes, serves and volleys. Campers learn to play both singles and doubles. The university's summer baseball program provides professional coaching and instruction after a careful evaluation of each camper's skill level. Campers participate in drills and scrimmages and have the opportunity to win fun prizes throughout the program.
