Camps for Kids in Montana

Montana is a beautiful northern state that offers a variety of outdoor attractions such as Flathead National Forest, Glacier National Park and Sawtooth National Forest. Camps throughout the state provide children an opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the area while learning something new and having fun doing it. Montana offers a wide variety of camps that cater to a number of interests for any type of kid.

  1. Montana River Guides Camps

    • Montana River Guides is based in central Montana in the town of Alberton. Since 1996, Montana River Guides have been offering four- and five-day adventure camps for children ages 11 through 16. Participants are educated on the fundamentals of boating and river safety while being challenged and learning about teamwork and leadership. It offers both rafting and kayaking camps that take the kids through a variety of different locations such as Clark Fork, Blackfoot River and Frenchtown Pond, which is a perfect spot for beginners.

    NBC Basketball Camps

    • NBC Basketball Camps take place in southern Montana on the campus of Rocky Mountain College in the town of Billings. Camp-goers will stay in residential dorms of the historical college, which was founded 1878, as well as have access to the cafeteria, gym and campus swimming pool. The camps are coed and last four days. They are broken up by age groups that includes kids ages 8 though 18.

    Orvis-Endorsed Kid's Fly-Fishing Camp

    • The Orvis-Endorsed Kid's Fly-Fishing Camp is located in northern Montana in the town of Ovando. Participants will get the opportunity to fish from a number of scenic spring creeks, tail-water and still-water spots in the area as well as learning the ropes of a fly-fishing boat. In addition, kids will learn the fundamentals of fishing and the latest fly-fishing techniques, including casting, knot tying and entomology. The camp has one guide to every two campers and lasts seven days.

    Next Generation Kids Camps

    • The Next Generation Kids camps are put on by the Montana District Council and also take place in northern Montana. Located in Flathead Valley, two miles east of Flathead National Forest, the camps center on offering kids an atmosphere for fun, games, sports and faith. Throughout the week of the camp the children will participate in variety of activities focused around faith as well as listen to a number of speakers. The Next Generation Kids Camps are coed and are open to third- through sixth-graders.
