The New Hope Wilderness Camp, located in the Ozark mountains of Ava, Missouri, is a Christian camp offered year-round that caters to troubled teenagers. The camp tries to promote an environment that discourages self-defeating and self-destructive behavior in children and to remove teens from the negative influences that arise from peer pressure. It is the goal of New Hope Wilderness Camp to help young men and women build character, develop stamina, acquire self-discipline, increase personal accountability and learn a greater appreciation for others. During the 21-day camp stay, camp participants and qualified staff live in the forest in tents, isolated from modern conveniences. Camp participants will do ground work with the camp horses, take riding lessons and participate in daily physical exercise. New Hope caters to children aged 11 to 20 (who experience conduct behavior problems) and offers one faculty member per every two participants.

Midcourse Correction offers an outdoor challenge camp for at-risk youth in order to help participants develop self-confidence and concern for the effects of their choices on others and to discourage choices that can lead kids on a self-destructive path. The program offers 46 hours of training in activities such as daily calisthenics, high adventure ropes courses, marching, teamwork activities and group work projects. Four seminars teach positive and negative outcomes of life decisions and help to deter youths from making decisions that will negatively affect their future. The program includes two nights of lodging, 24-hour supervision, six meals, a written evaluation sent to a referral source (parents or courts), a graduation certificate and T-shirt (if passed) and two-hour parenting help sessions held on the Sunday before graduation. The program is open to participants aged 11-17, 18 if still in school, and demands full participation of those who attend.
