Discipline Camps for Kids

Discipline camps for children and teens are widely available throughout the United States and Canada. These types of camps cater to at-risk youths who suffer from behavioral problems and aim to quell self-destructive behavior and life choices that can lead to negative consequences. Most discipline camps take place in remote outdoor areas to remove troubled kids from negative societal influences and outside peer pressure.
  1. New Hope Wilderness Camp

    • The New Hope Wilderness Camp, located in the Ozark mountains of Ava, Missouri, is a Christian camp offered year-round that caters to troubled teenagers. The camp tries to promote an environment that discourages self-defeating and self-destructive behavior in children and to remove teens from the negative influences that arise from peer pressure. It is the goal of New Hope Wilderness Camp to help young men and women build character, develop stamina, acquire self-discipline, increase personal accountability and learn a greater appreciation for others. During the 21-day camp stay, camp participants and qualified staff live in the forest in tents, isolated from modern conveniences. Camp participants will do ground work with the camp horses, take riding lessons and participate in daily physical exercise. New Hope caters to children aged 11 to 20 (who experience conduct behavior problems) and offers one faculty member per every two participants.
