Girls age 6 to 16 will enjoy spending time at the Rockbrook Camp for Girls in Brevard, North Carolina, less than five hours west of Raleigh. Rockbrook, accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA), allows girls to take part in horseback riding, swimming, drama classes, arts and crafts, and kayaking. The Monday-to-Saturday schedule allows for group activities, rest and private time. Sundays are more relaxed, the campers can sleep late and attend chapel where they discuss issues such as nature and friendship. Each day the girls will eat three square meals, as well as several snacks throughout the day.
The campers are divided into three age groups, sleep in cabins with campers of a similar age plus two camp counselors, and share one of three public bathhouses. Additionally, each of the three age groups has its own lodge for group and nighttime activities. Girls can enroll in multi-week sessions which start in early June and end in mid-August. The rates for each session cover all camp-related costs.

Girls can choose activities such as canoeing, tubing, pottery, horseback riding, rock climbing and take part in day and overnight hiking trips. The girls will love their time at Friendly Pines Camp in Prescott, Arizona, about two hours north of Phoenix. The camp, for girls age 6 to 13, offers team sports, archery, horseback riding, rocketry, sewing and water skiing. The campers will have a daily routine that includes chosen activities, quiet time and evening group activities, such as a dance or performance. The routine is abandoned on Sundays and the campers instead focus on camp-wide group activities with themes, such as “Goldrush Day” or “Disney Day.” The campers also participate in an overnight camp-out on the camp property during their session. The camp offers healthy meals three times a day plus a morning and afternoon snack.
