Summer Camps in New York for Teens

Teens in New York can choose to attend a variety of traditional summer camps. Camps are available with sessions that last from two weeks to as long as eight weeks. For those who wish to stay at home, day camps are also available for teens with special interests such as acting and dance.

Forest Lake Camp
- Forest Lake Camp, located near Lake George in New York, offers two- to eight-week programs for children and teens through age 16. Individual camps are offered to boys and girls, but the two camps unite for special events and other activities. Teens can participate in a variety of summer sports, horseback riding, dance and other activities.
  
  The fee for a two-week session is $2,900, $4,500 for a four-week session, $5,700 for six weeks and $6,500 for eight weeks. There are additional charges for horseback riding and water-skiing clinics.

Camp Hilltop
- Located in Hancock, New York, Camp Hilltop offers camps for teens through age 16. Sessions are offered for two to eight weeks.
  
  Campers can participate in activities such as archery, go-kart riding, theater, pottery and arts and crafts.
  
  The cost of the camp ranges from $1,960 for a two-week session to $6,600 for an eight-week session.

Camp Chateaugay
- Camp Chateaugay's teen program offers a variety of summer activities for teens. In the Northern Lights program, teens take multi-day canoe trips, go whitewater rafting and mountain biking. The Wilderness Program offers teens a chance to live in isolated cabins with no traditional plumbing or running water, except in the program's kitchen.
  
  A full program lasts six and one-half weeks. Tuition is $8,570 with an extra $195 for the Northern Lights program and $280 for the Wilderness program. Campers can choose to attend half of the program for a reduced fee.

Camp Broadway
- Camp Broadway is a day camp in New York City for budding actors, singers and dancers ages 10 to 17. Campers take classes in acting, dancing and singing taught by industry professionals. Each session lasts one-week.
  
  Tuition is $1,195 and includes meals, materials and a ticket to a Broadway musical on a Wednesday afternoon. Some scholarships are available.
