Fun Summer Camps for Teens

Summer can be a boring time for many teens. Summer camps provide a way to combat that boredom for a week or two at a time. Camps are offered for teens of all ages and in all areas of interest. There are camps for Christian teens, sports camps, academic camps, and camps for teens who just want to get away for a week or two.

A+ Summer Programs
- For academically-minded teens, A+ Summer Programs provide camps that allow middle and high school students to interact with other academically-minded teens and engage in high-level instruction. Programs are divided by grade level and allow students to take courses at Stanford University. The cost for of the program for 11th and 12th grade students is $4850 for a 14-day camp. The middle school camp is $2395 and lasts seven days and the 9th and 10th grade program costs $2565 for nine days, all prices are as of 2010. The camp cost includes lodging and meals. All students must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale to apply.

Chop Point Summer Camp
- Located in Maine, Chop Point Summer Camp is open to teenagers ages 12 to 18. Campers engage in a one-hour Bible discussion each morning and spend the rest of the day participating in various activities including sailing, soccer, drama, and Ultimate Frisbee. On the weekends, campers take field trips. Two sessions are offered each summer. Each session lasts three weeks and costs $1750. Teens can choose to attend both sessions for $3200.

Classic Adventure Camp
- Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing provides a two-week backpacking camp for teenagers. Campers spend the two weeks rock climbing, kayaking, caving and experiencing a variety of other outdoor activities while learning outdoor living skills. Camps take place within the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. The cost of the camp is $1895 which includes all camping supplies. A seven day option is also available for $895.

Omega Teen Camp
- Omega Teen Camp is a summer camp for teens that focuses on letting teens express themselves. The goal of the camp is to help teens increase their self-esteem while engaging in typical camp activities such as swimming, arts and crafts and basketball. Yoga sessions and "face your fear" workshops are also offered. Camps last for two weeks and cost approximately $1900. Students can choose to attend both two week sessions for $3,500.
