Camp Mirage is a day camp that stresses team-building and cooperative fellowship skills. One part of Camp Mirage is its Girls Rule program, a camp designed for girls only. Your daughter will take part in a variety of activities that range from hip hop dancing to driving golf carts to going to the spa for facials and manicures. Instruction will focus on building self-esteem and avoiding cliques and bullying. Girls will also take part in a philanthropic project to give back to the community. The program is designed for girls aged 8-13, broken into varsity and junior varsity programs.
Camp Sea-Gull has been run by the same family for more than 50 years. This is a traditional summer camp that features land sports, water sports, creative arts and horseback riding. Programs are available in two, four or six week sessions. Camp Sea-Gull is dedicated to small groups, with less than 100 girls per summer. Students interested in wilderness skills will also enjoy Camp Sea-Gull where they go hiking, sailing and rock climbing.
If your daughter in intellectually gifted, consider sending her to Roeper Day Summer Camp. Designed for children ages 3 through 12, the camp has been in operation since 1947, serving children in the Detroit metro area. Students can take part in a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, drama, photography, and computers, and even have time left over to play games and enjoy the summer weather outside. There are also two pools available for campers to use.
The Lake of the Woods Camp for Girls is a residential camp where you can send your daughter away for a few weeks. Offering two, four and eight week sessions, campers at Lake of the Woods Camp for Girls design their own programs, choosing from more than 40 land and water activities. The camp is located on 80 acres of woods and waterfront property where your daughter can play tennis, go horseback riding and go boating.
