Timeshares are an ownership interest in a vacation property; timeshare owners are guaranteed a set amount of time at a property each year. A timeshare tour vacation is a marketing tactic used to encourage people to try a timeshare property at a reduced cost in exchange for taking a tour. These vacations are offered in many places, including Las Vegas, Nevada, home of casinos, fabulous shows and high-quality restaurants.
Royal Vacation Suites offers tour vacations year-round to Las Vegas. To qualify for this vacation package, a couple must have a combined annual income of $40,000, be U.S. citizens, have a major credit card and be employed full time or retired. Both husband and wife must attend a 90-minute sales presentation.
The 191-room Royal Vacation Suites resort is located just off the Strip, walking distance of the Convention Center as well as the Mirage and Treasure Island casinos. The hotel offers a swimming pool with private cabanas, a hot tub and a fitness center. Rooms feature king-sized beds, mini-refrigerators, coffee makers, Wi-Fi Internet access and cable television.

Tahiti Village is a 27-acre resort managed by Consolidated Resorts Inc. It is located on the southern end of the Strip, within walking distance of the Harley-Davidson Cafe and the MGM Grand Hotel, as well as the famous fountains outside the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. The Tahiti Village's condo-style accommodations are available in three different floor plans, but all include a living room, a kitchen and a master bedroom.
The resort features Tahiti Joe's, a restaurant and tiki bar with casual dining. A popular attraction is the Mahana Spa.
The timeshare promotion takes about two hours. Consolidated Resorts requires all participants be U.S. citizens between the ages of 26 and 68. Participants must be married or committed couples living together, have a household income of at least $50,000 per year and maintain a major credit card account. A $100 reservation deposit is required; it is refunded after the resort tour.
The Tahiti Village promotion normally does not include airfare but does feature reduced fees or complimentary accommodations, along with tickets to Las Vegas shows.

The Hilton chain offers three properties for timeshare touring, two on the Strip
and one just off it. The Hilton on the Strip is located a short walk from Caesars Palace Casino. The Hilton at the Flamingo is located in the middle of the Strip near the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. While the Hilton Club Las Vegas is located off the Strip near the Las Vegas Country Club golf course, it is still only a short taxi ride from the Strip.
In exchange for a tour of a Hilton facility, visitors are offered tickets to Las Vegas shows, dining opportunities and reduced or free accommodations in Las Vegas or at other Hilton locations. The tour and sales presentations last about two hours, not including travel time to and from the resort.
Rooms at the Hiltons feature a kitchenette, a living area and a bedroom; some units include washers and dryers.
