Teen Clubs in Atlanta

There are a number of clubs in Atlanta, Georgia where teens can have a place to meet and hang out with friends rather than be out on the streets and getting into trouble. These clubs vary between teen versions of night clubs or educational centers which are opened up at all hours for teens to meet at.

  1. Atlanta Learning Center

    • The Atlanta Learning Center is a place where teens can go Monday through Saturday from two in the afternoon until midnight and participate in a variety of recreational and educational clubs. These clubs include a teen talk show which is broadcast on a local cable access station, teen lounges and group activities, tutoring for kids from kindergarten through teenagers in high school and basketball on Saturday afternoons. Membership to the club is required and there is a fee of ten dollars per month for full access to all the club's programs.

    Youth Pride

    • Since 1995 Youth Pride has been an organization who has set up clubs exclusively for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and other teens questioning their own sexuality. These clubs are safe and supportive of who these teens are, with movie nights, counseling, discussion forums and art shows created by members of the program. One of the main reasons these clubs were created was to give these teenagers who feel like complete outcasts a place where they can meet others like them and find community, as opposed to being alone and confused.
