Americade is a motorcycle touring rally that attracts 50,000 people each year to Lake George, N.Y. The annual event was first held in May 1983 and attracts riders and passengers who see motorcycle riding as a hobby.
Americade runs for the first full week of June after Memorial Day. In 2011 it will run from June 6 to 11 and in 2012 from June 4 to 11.
Lake George is located in the Adirondack Mountains in the state of New York. The rally takes place at several locations in the region. Nearby resort communities include Diamond Point, Bolton Landing, Warrensburg, Lake Luzerne and Hague.
Visitors can either buy an a la carte pass or a full package pass. The a la carte is ideal for people who are only staying two days, while the full package is better for people who wish to attend the entire event. It costs $85 per rider post-registration and $69 pre-registration for an a la carte pass. For the full package, prices are $100 post-registration and $87 pre-registration. Passengers pay less for both passes: $75 post-registration and $59 pre-registration for an a la carte pass and $90 post-registration and $77 pre-registration for a full package pass.
