Fun Indoor Activities for Kids in Lake George, New York

Being a resort area, it's no wonder that kids will find dozens of fun things to do in Lake George. Although it is known for all its outdoor recreation, Lake George, which is located in the foothills of the Adirondacks, also offers indoor activities for kids. Children will never be bored with all the fun things they can do indoors, especially when the weather doesn't permit them to play outside.
  1. Spooky Attractions

    • Recommended for children ages 6 and older, Dr. Morbid's Haunted House and the House of Frankenstein Wax Museum, are haunted attractions where kids will have fun being startled by spooky characters surprising them as they walk throughout a darkened environment. Dr. Morbid's Haunted House is open from May through November and the House of Frankenstein Wax Museum is open from April through October.

    Laser Tag

    • Kids can play laser tag in The Fun Spot and Adventure Racing, a multi-level lazer tag arena. Kids can tag their opponents in a play area with glow-in-the dark, black light obstacles. Players scores are calculated at the end of each game. The Fun Spot issues players a scorecard that also shows your player rank and the scores for both teams. Adventure Racing posts the final stats in the arcade after the game and includes hit percentage and other information about you and your team.

    Sports

    • The Adirondack Sports Complex has an indoor soccer league for boys and girls. The first session plays from January to March, the second session from March to April and the third session from November to January. Teams are divided by age group and are either coed or boys or girls teams.

Kids who like to play golf can practice their swing in the Adirondack Sports Complex's indoor driving range. The 110-yard range has 24 tee mats and kids can purchase a small or a large bucket of balls. The driving range is open twice a week beginning in the third week of December through late March or early April.

    Rock Climbing

    • Take the kids to Adventure Racing not just to play laser tag but to climb the indoor rock-climbing wall. The rock-climbing wall has four levels and timers so you can challenge friends to see who gets to the top first.

Kids will also have fun in RockSport Indoor Climbing Center, which has 4,200 square feet of indoor rock climbing. Children of all ages can start off on the beginner walls. Kids ages 10 to 16 can participate in Rockcamp, where they'll learn the skills and techniques of indoor and outdoor rock climbing.
