Deer Valley Resort is the sole ski-only resort in Park City, Utah's winter sports mecca. Deer Valley opened in 1981 and has remained snowboard-free ever since. The resort boasts six different mountain peaks for their skiers. Deer Valley also offers instruction for all types and ages of skiers, and they also offer ski-free childcare for parents who need a little time on the slopes.

At Mad River Glen, a co-op ski resort in Vermont, skiers pay for shares in the resort and keep it operating. Mad River Glen is famous for owning the oldest single chair lift in the United States, apart from being the only ski-only resort outside of Utah. Mad River Glen did briefly allow snowboarders on its slopes, only to ban them in 1991. Mad River Glen offers ski school and children's programs. The mountain boasts 45 runs with trails for every level skier.
