Resorts in Quartzite, Arizona

Quartzsite is a small town in western Arizona that is about 20 miles east of the Colorado River. Though the town only has a population of about 2,000 people, it's been a hub for rock, gem, mineral and fossil collectors since the 1960s who attend the eight major gem and mineral shows each year. While there are a number of hotels and RV parks in the town, there are only two designated resorts in town and both accommodate RVs: Rocking H Resort and Park Place RV Resort.

  1. Locations

    • Central Boulevard runs through the center of Quartzsite and most RV parks, hotels and motels are found on or near it. Rocking H Resort is located off of Central Boulevard on the west side. The resort runs a full block between Central and N Loma Vista Avenue. Park Place RV Resort is located in the southeastern part of town, south of Interstate 10. Specifically, you can find the resort where Riggles Avenue meets Kuehn Street. For both resorts, take the Riggles Avenue exit off of Interstate 10.

    Facilities

    • Rocking H Resort is the bigger of the two RV resorts found in Quartzsite. It has 146 RV sites and 110 of those are pull-through sites. Big rigs and pets are welcome at the resort and there are no age restrictions. There are restroom and show facilities available at Rocking H, and the power capability at each site is 30 amps. Park Place RV Resort only has 88 spaces, but each comes with sewer, water and 50 amp electricity capabilities. There are pull-through sites at this resort, restrooms and shower rooms and pets are allowed.

    Recreation

    • Rocking H Resort and Park Place RV Resort have limited recreation facilities on their grounds. Rocking H has clubhouse that can be used for social gatherings like birthday parties, dances and movie nights. There is also an outdoor shuffleboard area at Rocking H. At Park Place there is an outdoor pool, but it is periodically closed. The owners of the resort do offer year-round hay rides around the resort's grounds, however, that you and your kids should enjoy.

    Attractions

    • January and February see the most traffic at Rocking H Resort and Park Place RV Resort as travelers visit one or all of the eight major gem and mineral shows to look at or purchase the raw and handcrafted merchandise vendors sell. RV travelers might also enjoy the Sports, Vacation & RV Show that happens near the end of January in Quartzsite or the Chili Cook-Off & State Salsa Championship that happens at the end of February. Nearby Quartzsite, there are a number of places you and your family can visit, including Bradshaw Trail, the Imperial Sand Dunes, the Opal Hill Mine and Tumco/Hedges Ghost Town.
