  1. Ocean City

    • Covering 10 miles of sandy beaches, Ocean City, Maryland, is one of the top family-friendly destinations on the East Coast. Explore three miles of thrill rides, restaurants, arcade games and nonstop entertainment on the famous Ocean City Boardwalk. Don't miss the historic Trimper's Carousel, built in 1902, the oldest running carousel in the country. During the summer, watch free movies on the sand and listen to live music at a free weekly concert. Cast a line off one of the piers (or from any designated fishing area) and bring home bluefish, kingfish and sea trout, without having to pay a fee or get a license.

    Atlantic City

    • Since the 1950s, Atlantic City has attracted tourists from around the globe, with six miles of pristine Jersey shoreline and an array of bars, restaurants, casinos and over-the-top entertainment. Known as the Las Vegas of the East Coast, Atlantic City has more casinos than anywhere east of the Mississippi. At the heart of the beach town is the world-renowned boardwalk featuring several carnival-style piers, unique shopping and everything from an aquarium and museums to street performers and luxury boutiques. On the beach, play volleyball, surf, have a picnic or just relax on the sand. While its happening night life and abundance of gambling makes Atlantic City a haven for adults, there are a number of kid-friendly activities, including the many rides and arcade games on the piers.

    Wildwoods

    • With over 400 restaurants, three amusement piers and five miles of free beaches, Wildwoods on the Jersey Shore is consistently ranked as the No. 1 beach in New Jersey. Made up of three interconnecting beaches, Wildwood, Wildwood Crest and North Wildwood, the area offers something for everyone--from three beachfront water parks and more rides and attractions than Disneyland to nightclubs and miles of shopping. Walk or bike along the two-mile boardwalk and play a game of miniature golf, race go-carts, ride one of the six roller coasters or chow down on a cheesesteak. Afterward, dive into the waves, but be warned: In places, the beach is over half a mile wide. When the sun sets, enjoy free concerts, talent shows and a fireworks show every Friday.
