Northern Michigan Fishing Lodges

Northern Michigan is an outdoorsman's paradise, with plenty of opportunities for fishing and numerous lodges for relaxing at the end of the day.     • Fishing enthusiasts can choose from one or two bedroom cabins at this northern Michigan site on the AuSable River. Jim's offers canoe rental, lodging and guided fly fishing services. Spend your time trout-fishing on the AuSable led by the property's owner, a lifelong guide. No hard liquor permitted on canoes or fishing trips. According to the Grayling township website, 70 percent of the land in Crawford County is publicly owned, with many opportunities for hiking, biking, hunting and other outdoor recreation.

    Leelanau's Rustic Resort

    • This resort features cabins along the shore of Lake Leelanau, suitable for groups of two to 11 people. Each cabin has fully-equipped kitchens, cable TV, DVD and VCRs, with charcoal grills off the patios. The lake includes a swimming area, and water depth at the end of dock is between five and six feet. Lake Leelanaua boasts walleye, perch, pike and bass, and the resort includes a fish house for cleaning the catch. Moorings on the docks can accommodate pontoon boats to canoes.
