The Kewadin Casino branch in Hessel is a much smaller facility located about 26 miles from Mackinaw City. The casino has no restaurant, but does have a deli which serves food during the hours the casino is open. The Hessel location offers a variety of slot machines. Special events in Hessel include Two for Tuesday, where guests receive bonus points and tokens depending on how they spend. There are also different events scheduled throughout the year, including specials for seniors and holiday activities.

Odawa Casino in Petoskey is approximately 32 miles away from Mackinaw City. The casino offers over 1,500 different slot machines to its guests. Odawa has a poker room with different tournaments throughout the year, roulette wheels, card games and Keno. There is an on-site hotel with 127 rooms and suites, as well as an indoor pool and a jacuzzi. The casino has three restaurants, a gift shop and an entertainment facility which hosts concerts, shows and performances throughout the year. The Odawa Casino is run by the Little Traverse Bay bands of Odawa Indians.
