Mackinaw City is in north Michigan on the Straits of Mackinac. Visitors can find plenty to see and do, including a trip to the Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum, a WWII transport ship. Kewadin Casino Hessel is 36 miles from Mackinaw City. Run by the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, the casino offers a variety of slot machines. Gamblers can play penny slots all the way up to $25 slots. Casino guests can enjoy snacks and meals at the Northern Nook Bar and Grille. Kewadin Casino Hessel does not have a hotel but does offer guests an RV park, which is open May through October. The casino is open daily 10 a.m. to midnight from November through May. Odawa Casino Resort is 36 miles from Mackinaw City and run by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians. The casino has a variety of gaming options including roulette, craps, poker, blackjack, bingo and about 1,500 slot machines. Visitors can enjoy a meal at Sage for fine dining, Waas-No-De for buffet style meals, and Copper Café for snacks. Odawa Casino Resort offers several entertainment options including Ozone nightclub, Rendezvous Lounge and Ovation Hall for live performances from top musical acts. Also at the casino is Gourmet 2 Go, a food and gift specialty shop, and Quill Box gift shop. The Odawa Hotel is part of the casino but is located a few miles away. The hotel has an indoor pool, business center and a shuttle bus to take guests to the casino.
