Known as the Granite City, St. Cloud, Minnesota, is on the banks of the Mississippi River and 40 miles upstream from the metropolis of Minneapolis-St. Paul. As of 2010, it has 60,000 inhabitants, who make it a bustling center. Activities range from typical city recreations, like bowling, to more nature-friendly pursuits like environmental wildlife parks.
Wilson Park, on the banks of the river, is the largest recreational area in St. Cloud and includes a small lake with row boats for hire. The park has children's play equipment and sporting facilities for softball, tennis and volleyball. Wilson Park has benches and tables for outdoor eating.

The Musinger/Clemens Gardens provide visitors with a picturesque and relaxing experience. Entrance to the gardens is free, and inside the grounds you will find spectacular giant oak trees, pine trees and more than 1,000 rose bushes.

The Sand Prairie Wildlife Environmental Area provides an area where residents and visitors to St. Cloud can enjoy the natural beauties of the area. This includes sign-posted nature trails, a marsh boardwalk and a hiking trail for more experienced nature lovers. Snowshoe excursions and skiing are also available, but, naturally, only available when weather permits.

St. Cloud offers a variety of experiences for keen and budding fishermen. Molitor's Trout Heaven Park gives you the chance to fish for trout, and also supplies the fishing rods, the bait and fishing equipment. The park also offers miniature golf and a petting zoo.

Granite Bowl is the largest bowling alley in St. Cloud and is on two sites, downtown and south St. Cloud.
There is a pro shop in the building and also a stocked snack bar. Granite Bowl hosts bowling leagues and many specials over the summer months.
