Pine Island is a tiny town in Hernando County located along the Gulf Coast of Florida and approximately an hour north of the Tampa area. Situated in a rural area on Pine Island, the town does not have any bars or taverns itself. A restaurant that is a favorite with bikers as well as sports and go-go bars are, however, within 20 minutes away.
A popular destination for bikers, the Bayport Inn is in a remote location along Florida's Gulf Coast. The Inn has an air conditioned dining area and what it calls a Tiki Deck outside where patrons may smoke. The Bayport Inn, which can accommodate groups of 20 or more for parties or banquets, has full-service bars both inside and outside. It features live entertainment by local musicians and has various daily and weekly specials. Constructed in 1960, the Bayport Inn is a couple of miles south of Pine Island and five miles west of U.S. 19.

Situated approximately 10 miles to the east of Pine Island in the town of Spring Hill, Bar Envy features go-go dancing along with VIP booths and a VIP room with a couch. The bar also has a large bar, pool tables, a game area, a dance floor and 16 TVs for sports viewing. Patrons can also take advantage of a full restaurant that serves various appetizers, salads, and beef and chicken entrees. The Overtime Sports Bar & Grill is approximately 20 minutes south of Pine Island in the town of Hudson. Open seven days a week, the bar has various events each evening such as karaoke, dance music played by DJs, and drink specials. Many evenings also have specific themes such as 80's, Luau, and Cowboy and Indian nights. Its full kitchen is open until 9 p.m., but a late-night menu is also available until midnight. Another big attraction at a bar with waitresses is its weekend NCAA and NFL football packages. The Overtime Sports Bar & Grill also features live bands on Saturday evenings.
