The Universal Orlando Resort in Florida is the second-largest theme park in the Orlando area after the Disney World Resort. The Universal Orlando Resort contains Universal Studios Florida, where fans of Universal Studios movies can enjoy movie-themed rides. It also includes Universal's Islands of Adventure, where guests can visit one of several uniquely themed islands, including Marvel Superhero Island, Jurassic Park Island and, as of June 18, 2010, Harry Potter Island. Then there is the Universal CityWalk, which contains movie theaters, clubs, stores and theme restaurants. Tickets to the Universal Orlando Resort can be purchased online.
Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox and enter www.universalorlando.com into the address bar at the top, then press enter. This will bring up the entry home page of the Universal Orlando website.
Go to the "Buy Tickets" menu option in the upper left hand corner. Clicking on the tickets option takes you to the Park Tickets screen, where you have additional options.
Review the theme park ticket options in the center of the web page. Note that there are two categories of tickets in the center of the page for you to choose from. The top section is the "Park-to-Park" ticket center. Purchasing Park-to-Park tickets will allow you to travel back and forth between theme parks (Universal Studios Florida and Universal's Islands of Adventure) on the same day. The section below, the "One Park Access" tickets, sells you tickets that are good for one park per day. The One Park Access tickets are slightly less expensive than the Park to Park tickets. Tickets are available for 1, 2, 3, 4, or 7 days, and beneath each section is a smaller button that says "Add Wet 'n Wild to your 3, 4, and 7 day ticket for only $25 more." In addition to all of these options, the upper left hand corner of the screen provides two additional ticketing choices: annual passes and Florida resident tickets.
Make your ticket selection and click the corresponding "Begin Purchase" button to proceed to the quantities and ages screen. (Florida residents choosing Florida resident ticket plans will need to enter their state of residence and zip code before proceeding to the quantities and ages screen.) On the quantities and ages screen, you may enter the number of tickets you want to purchase and the ages of the guests for whom you are purchasing them. Children ages 3-9 receive discounts on their ticket prices, and children under 3 are free.
Press the "Add to Cart" button and proceed to the Shopping Cart screen. Review your purchases and then press the orange "Checkout" button on the bottom. The next page will prompt you for your billing Information, and the page after that will ask you for shipping Information. The last page is where you will finally review and place your order. Enjoy your vacation!
