Tennessee, nicknamed the "Volunteer State," is home to a vast selection of year-round activities and attractions. One of the best-known attractions is the Grand Ole Opry, the world's longest running live radio show. Aside from music and the arts, Tennessee also offers agritourism, shopping and outdoor recreation. Additionally, the state boasts sports and recreation opportunities such as golf, baseball, basketball, football, hockey and swimming, including several publc swimming pools from which to choose.
The indoor swimming pool in Centennial Sportsplex is open year-round for open-swim times and for classes such as Senior Water Exercise, Sunrise Splash, Advanced H20, diving lessons and lap swim. The air and water temperatures are computer controlled. The pool always has lifeguards on duty, as well as facilities including showers, changing rooms, steam room, sauna and a complete fitness center. Centennial Sportsplex hosts special events such as swim meets, diving meets and clinics. Fees are charged for adults, seniors 62 and over, children five to 12 years old, college students with an ID, the disabled, military personnel and spectators. Children four years of age and under are free.

The indoor swimming pool at the Knoxville Adaptive Recreation Center offers classes for all age groups, including Homeschool Learn to Swim, Gentle Joints, Mom-n-Me, Fitness and Therapeutic, Aqua Sprint, Adult Learn to Swim and Gut Busters. You can rent the pool for birthday parties and other private events. The pool also has a private party or meeting room. Knoxville Adaptive Recreation Center is open from Monday through Friday. A fee is charged per person, per visit to use the pool and other facilities.

Freedom Hall Pool has a full-size, 25-meter indoor pool with lifeguards that is open year-round. The Parks and Recreation Department operates the pool, which has six lanes. Facilities include restrooms, showers and a party room for private pool parties. Non-resident and city-resident fees are charged per person and monthly and annual passes are available. Separate party fees apply.
