Pigeon Forge is located in eastern Tennessee and is part of the "Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville" tri-city area. Opened in 1986, the Incredible Christmas Place has grown from a small gift store to a 43,000 square foot complex dedicated to everything Christmas. Open year-round, the complex sells just about everything you could want for Christmas as well as proving guests with a variety of Christmas attractions and activities. Santa Clause stops by from April to December every year on the weekends. The complex also has its own hotel and restaurant on-site for guests that wish to stay close-by.

The Winterfest celebration takes place in December each year in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville, Tennessee. In Pigeon Forge, the celebration starts at Patriot Park with a parade, live music, special guests and activities for the entire family. During Winterfest, Pigeon Forge lights up with more than 4 million Christmas lights. Storybook characters, such as Mother Goose, can also be found wandering the streets of Winterfest. For shoppers, the World's Largest Shopping Extravaganza takes place during the first 10 days of the festival at the Pigeon Forge outlet mall.

In nearby Gatlinburg, visitors can enjoy the all the Winterfest celebrations as well as the New Year's Eve Ball Drop at the Space Needle. The Space Needle is a 400 foot high observation tower that affords views of the Smoky Mountains form the observation deck. Dining, educational information and a gift shop are found at the Space Needle for visitors throughout the year. The Space Needle puts on a smaller version of the famous Times Square celebration where thousands gather for a party in the streets and to watch the ball drop as they count down to the new year. Live entertainment and a fireworks show are also part of the celebration and best of all it's free.
