Since 2009, the Square and Round Dance Association of Southern Arizona has hosted an annual Southern Arizona Clogging Dance Festival. For one weekend in January, a featured dancer offers clogging lessons at the Old Pueblo Dance Center at the corner of First Avenue and Delano Street in Tucson. Workshops are offered during the day, and evening dances allow you to test your skills learned in the workshop in a freestyle atmosphere.

Tucson hosts the annual Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase, also known as the "Gem Show," typically beginning at the end of January. Thousands of international buyers and sellers gather at this two-week event as treasure hunters showcase their most prized finds from around the world. Along with the exhibits displayed at more than 40 sites around the city, dozens of live shows also take place in white tents, hotels and exhibit halls.

Every January, Tucson hosts the annual Senior Olympics to promote health and fitness in adults over the age of 50. During this 10-day festival, over 3,500 senior athletes and volunteers gather to participate in more than 30 sports and activities. Over 100 competitions take place during the event, including competitions in golf, bridge, volleyball, tennis, cycling, running and walking races, pinochle, shuffleboard, euchre and racquetball. Individuals can sign up independently or as a team.
