The Dickens Victorian Village is located in historic downtown Cambridge, Ohio. Visitors come from all over the world to view in this life-like village, which recreates classic scenes from the Victorian era and features mannequins — which line the streets — wearing authentic clothing of the time. If you want to take a brisk walk and take in the beautiful winter scenery you may want to check out the annual Winter Hike at Hocking Hills. Each year approximately 5,000 hikers show up to this event. This hike, taking place on January 15, 2011, starts at the Hocking Hills State Park Campground and ends with a return ride to Old Man’s Cave. You may arrive at any time between 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the hike is certain to get your heart pumping. Dress for the event; layered clothing and boots will keep you warm. For this excursion, a donation is encouraged for refreshments and the return ride, but not required.

A Christmas Story House is another main attraction and is located in Cleveland, Ohio. Tour the actual home used in the holiday classic “A Christmas Story”, restored to its original spender. After viewing the home first hand you will want to head off to the museum where items from the original movie are on display along with more than a hundred behind the scenes photos. Admission prices are $8 for adults and $6 for children ages 7-12. Seniors are $7 and children under 7 are free.

The Hamilton Ice Fest is offered every other year in January. The next Ice Fest is January 21 - 22, 2011. The Hamilton Ice Fest is packed with activities such as an ice carving contest, dog sled race, arts and crafts show and a book fest. Most activities are free to attend. The show in January 2011, is set to exhibit characters from famous books including Gone with the Wind and The Wizard of Oz. Children can enjoy ice sculptures from famous Dr. Seuss books. Bring the entire family and enjoy the winter packed weekend.
