Things to Do Indoors in Ohio

Museums, historical houses and nightclubs aren't the only indoor attractions in Ohio. Ohio also features a indoor water park in Columbus and several musical theaters throughout the state. Plus, the Center of Science and Industry (COSI)----dubbed the No. 1 science center in the country by Parents Magazine----features a load of indoor activities including after school programs and outreach programs.
  1. Toledo Museum of Art

    • At the Toledo Museum of Art, guests may view more than 30,000 works of art by such artists as van Gogh and Picasso, hear guest presentations or even hold a wedding or business event. The museum also offers art classes for beginners and professionals. Scholarships which cover 50 percent of the tuition fee are also available. Free student tours for elementary through high school groups are also available.

    Mansfield Playhouse

    • Mansfield Playhouse is the second oldest steadily-producing community theater in Ohio. Mansfield, which is also the largest production company in the state, features a variety of plays including "A Christmas Story" and "Sleeping Beauty."

    Fort Rapids Indoor Water Park

    • Fort Rapids Indoor Water Park Resort offers its guests the opportunity to stay, play and eat. There's 60,000 sq. feet indoor water park (the first to be built in Ohio); 338 rooms and villas----including villas for larger groups; and a full-service eating options including Branding Iron Grille----with Southwest specialties such as Texas red chili and blackened chicken Caesar salad.     COSI

    • The Center of Science and Industry (COSI) has various exhibits including several new artifacts from the Titanic's wreck site. The COSI also allows visitors to conduct water experiments, create newscasts and even watch themselves age. In addition, there are nearly 100 new artifacts, including 23 which made their first public appearance at the COSI. You'll also find three movie theaters on site.
