  1. Solon Center for the Arts

    • Established in 2005 primarily as a school for aspiring entertainers, the Solon Center for the Arts (solonarts.org) provides visitors with a wide array of theater and art attractions throughout the year. Most of the theatrical productions feature young people that are enrolled in the center's classes, though the facility also houses a variety of other acts such as orchestras and plays performed by adults. The center's gallery generally showcases works from local artists and students. At the time of publication, costs for most events range between $5 and $10.

    Summer and Adventure Camp

    • Children looking for an enjoyable and interactive summer activity can join the Sodom Recreation Department's Summer or Adventure Camp programs (solonrec.org). The Donald Ross-designed course ranges from just over 6,100 yards in length from the closest tee boxes to more than 6,500 yards from the expert tees. Several holes feature water in play, but with a mostly straightforward layout the course appeals to both amateur and expert golfers. The club also features a sports bar in its clubhouse, while the spacious lounge is ideal for those looking to hold a banquet or wedding reception.

    South Chagrin Reservation

    • Located on a large parcel of land to the northeast of downtown Solon, the South Chagrin Reservation (clemetparks.com) offers visitors the opportunity to spend some quality time with nature. The park features picnic areas for family meals, along with miles of walking trails and several fishing spots. Hikers are greeted by towering trees and stone carvings dating back as far as 1885.
