Broadway runs the entire length of Manhattan, starting at Bowling Green near the island's southern tip and running northward into the Bronx and Westchester County beyond the city limits. This two-level kosher restaurant can seat up to 350 diners. Abigael's is the brainchild of Jeff Nathan, an award-winning chef and cookbook author. Although everything served at the restaurant is prepared strictly according to Jewish dietary law, the menu reflects multiple culinary influences and offers a wide assortment of dishes. Located on West 44th Street between Broadway and Sixth Avenue, this Italian restaurant specializes in the cuisine of Venice, a regional variation not seen that widely in the United States. Entrees include grilled salmon and calamari; Brodetto alla Veneta, a seafood stew that's been braised with tomatoes, Pinot Grigio and garlic; grilled chicken breast with seven herbs; veal scaloppini served with a sauce of Pinot Grigio, parsley and capers; and black Angus shell steak, marinated with rosemary, and served with spinach, roasted garlic potatoes and wild mushrooms.

To bring the genuine article to New York City diners, restaurateur Artie Cutler installed two massive Southern Pride smokers, each of which can hold up to 1,400 pounds of meat. The restaurant opened in 1994 and offers a wide selection of traditional barbecue favorites, including ribs, chicken, pulled pork and beef brisket.
