Less than three hours south of Duluth is Maplewood, Minn., home to Battle Creek Waterworks Family Aquatic Center, which is open from June 7 to Aug. 17 each year. Families and friends can gather in the shallow water pool, stroll through the lily pad walk area and fly down the three-story water slide.
