There are several state parks within 60 miles of San Antonio, Texas. These state parks offer a variety of scenery and activities, with all of them located near the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Moreover, since San Antonio serves as the hub for these parks, one can also visit the historic Alamo, the Tower of the Americas building, SeaWorld, as well as the famed River Walk containing restaurants and nightlife.
Lyndon B. Johnson State Park is located between Fredericksburg and Johnson City and is in the heart of the President's former home. This park occupies over 700 acres, where visitors can enjoy historical study, picnicking, nature study, fishing, swimming and view longhorn cattle. Visitors can also take a bus tour to see LBJ's ranch, known as the Texas White House.
