Detroit's historic Greektown neighborhood is a small area of the city comprised of Greek restaurants, business, churches, and a major casino-hotel complex. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Greektown's eclectic history dates back to the 1920s when the first Greek immigrants started arriving to Detroit. Most of Greektown's restaurants are, not surprisingly, Greek and serve lots of authentic dishes like moussaka, gyro sandwiches, and baklava. There are, however, a number of non-Greek restaurants in the immediate area serving everything from gourmet Italian fare to no-frills Tex-Mex food.
This Greektown stalwart just an arms length from the casino has been serving some of the tastiest Greek food in the Detroit metro area for over 20 years. Voted best Greek restaurant by the Detroit Metro Times, Pegasus packs in a large crowd, especially on weekends when the neighborhood fills up with gamblers from far and wide. One look at the kitschy winged horse neon sign and you'll see why people flock to Pegasus. In addition to traditional Greek favorites like moussaka, dolmades, and grilled lamb chops, Pegasus serves a number of more international and American-style dishes like filet mignon and BBQ chicken. Also on the menu are several imported Greek beers and wines by the bottle.

With its hand-blown glass ceiling, rich marble countertops, and warm Mediterranean colors, Mosaic invites guests to enjoy eclectic Greek and Mediterranean-influenced food. Start with the lobster spring rolls topped with mango salsa and wasabi aioli, mushrooms stuffed with Alaskan king crab and smoked gouda, or roasted tomato asparagus bisque. Seafood lovers will find plenty to dive into, whether it's grape leaf-wrapped striped bass, twin South African lobster tails, or fennel crusted ahi tuna. Be sure to save room for the outrageously rich and gooey chocolate lava cake erupting with raspberry sauce.
