Bars With Mechanical Bulls in NYC

It's hard to believe, but until recently there was one thing missing from Manhattan nightlife—mechanical bull riding. There was at least one mechanical bull to ride in Queens, but none in Manhattan until Johnny Utah's opened in 2007. Now you have two choices in Manhattan to get your fix of this American tradition.

  1. Johnny Utah's

    • Smack dab in the middle of Johnny Utah’s you will find one of the two mechanical bulls in Manhattan. It’s the first thing you see when you walk in, but don’t let it distract you from everything else the place offers. Johnny Utah’s has a full bar and a full menu for lunch, dinner or a quick snack, and there are happy hour specials, private parties and drink specials almost every night. What the bar doesn't have is a door that’s easy to find. You can easily walk by the place if you don’t know what you’re looking for.

    Mason Dixon

    • Not to be outdone by Midtown, way downtown by the Williamsburg Bridge the Mason Dixon bar and restaurant has a mechanical bull of its own. The bar boasts “the most extensive list of bourbons in NYC,” but the main attraction is what they lovingly, and simply, refer to as “the Bull.”

    Johnny Famous

    • Long before Manhattan got on board this train, Queens had its own mechanical bull in the heart of Bayside. Just a quick LIRR train ride outside from Manhattan, Johnny Famous has a dance floor, two full bars and a mechanical bull that never disappoints. Johnny Famous offers a menu filled with American favorites like burgers, wings, and nachos.
