Bars with Mechanical Bulls in Ohio

Old western bars and country clubs aren't the only places in Ohio with mechanical bulls and bull-riding contests. From Cleveland to Dayton, many bars across the state arehome to big metal bulls ready to challenge you. Finding a bar that suits your desires shouldn't be hard in Ohio and it doesn't matter whether you're a hip-hop lover, a pop fanatic or a country fan.

  1. Saddle Ridge

    • Saddle Ridge is located in Cleveland, Ohio in Old Brooklyn. The bar is equipped with 30 televisions and an 8-ft.-wide screen, as well as 10 regulation-size pool tables. The Saddle Ridge Cleveland website advertises itself as "Cleveland's Wildest & Best Rock-n-Country Party Bar." The bar is open from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

      Thursday nights are "College ID Nights." College students 18 and older receive $2 off the cover charge with their college ID card.

      On Fridays, a free buffet from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. heralds Ladies Night, where women get in free until 9 p.m. Women must be 18 and over and men must be 21 years old and over. Saddle Ridge offers line dance lessons and bull rides Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

      Saturday night at Saddle Ridge is advertised as "The Ultimate Dance Party" for patrons 21 and over.

    Whiskey Ranch

    • The Whiskey Ranch is located in Toledo, Ohio. The club plays a little bit of country music and a little bit of rock and roll. As of February 2010, The Whiskey Ranch has $3 beers and drinks every night. The club is open from 8 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

      Thursday night is college party night, complete with college discounts on drinks. You must be 18 to get in the club on Thursdays and 21 to drink. On Fridays, the mechanical bull comes to life; bull-riding contests offer chances to win cash and prizes. Saturday is dance night at the Whiskey Ranch. On Fridays and Saturdays, patrons must be at least 21 years of age.

    The Yellow Rose

    • The Yellow Rose is located in Dayton, Ohio. The bar is equipped with pool tables, a large dance floor and a big mechanical bull. Line-dancing engages patrons at the Yellow Rose, but those who would rather settle back and enjoy the show will find plentiful seating.

      The club is open from 8 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. on Thursdays, and from 7:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

      Every Thursday at The Yellow Rose is ladies night, which includes drink specials and club mixes.On Friday and Saturday, country music plays until midnight and after that, hip-hop and top 40 hits hit the airwaves in The Yellow Rose.

      As of February 2010, those who are 21 years old and older pay a $3 cover and those under 21, pay a $10 cover charge.

    Sundance Saloon and Dancehall in Columbus

    • The Sundance Saloon is three different nightclubs in one building. The club has a country venue, complete with line-dancing, two-stepping and a mechanical bull. The second part of the club is a dance hall called "Crawdaddy's" where patrons dance to Top 40s music. Finally, the "Nashville Recording Studio" hosts karaoke events every Friday and Saturday night. The club is equipped with an open-air patio for smokers.

      Sundance Saloon and Dancehall is open Thursday through Saturday. As of February 2010, the cover charge is $3 and doors open at 9 p.m.
