Uncle Charlie's is a gay bar near Grand Central Station and 42nd Street on the second floor of its building. It has a piano and cabaret feel, and on Tuesdays guests can enjoy karaoke and a top-shelf 2-for-1 special. From Monday to Saturday, Uncle Charlie's is open from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m., and on Sunday it is open from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. As of September 2010, Uncle Charlie's website claims that it is the only full-time gay bar in Manhattan's Midtown East area.

Gym Sportsbar is in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. As of September 2010, it boasts to be the only gay sports bar in New York City. It is three and a half blocks from the 14th Street subway station, and is open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Monday-Thursday, 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Friday, 1 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Sunday. Guests enjoy a 2-for-1 happy hour and cheap beer specials throughout the week. Gym Sportsbar also separates itself from other gay bars with its Locker Room basement for private events and Flip Cup Thursdays.

Eastern Bloc is a gay bar in the East Village with a 1900s Communist theme. Its happy hour runs from 7-10 p.m. with specials for karaoke on Mondays. Atomic Karaoke's slogan is “Come get bombed,” with specials titled Chernobyl, Love Canal, Hiroshima and Three Mile Island. New York Magazine awarded Eastern Bloc with the title of Best Bar of 2007. Eastern Bloc's website sells T-shirts and underwear for men with the bar's name printed on them.
