The Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, area is alive with a wealth of tourist attractions. Every Friday and Saturday night, as of 2010, the historic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth comes alive with the Stockyards Championship rodeo. The show starts promptly at 8 p.m. On select Fridays throughout the year children under 12 receive free admission. Please contact the Stockyard Championship Rodeo customer service to determine yearly schedule. The rodeo offers fun for all ages. Children will especially enjoy the children's race to pull a bow from a calf's tail. The winner receives a cash award. Rodeo contestants compete from across the state in bronco riding, bull riding, calf roping and barrel racing. Throughout the year there are many special events such as the Pawnee Bill Wild West show, which is a reenactment of the historic wild west show that once toured the country 90 years ago. The show holds shooting contests, rope tricks, singing and daredevil horse riding.

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden is located on 109 acres. There are more than 2,500 species of plants and exotic plants. The gardens are divided into 23 unique gardens for guests to stroll through and explore. The rose garden has more than 2,000 species of roses. Along the walkways are numerous benches for guests to sit down and leisurely enjoy the lovely garden settings. The Japanese garden features numerous koi ponds that guests can enjoy sitting beside to view the colorful fish. There is a gift shop and on-site restaurant that serves light lunch selections. The Botanic Garden offers several hosting services for weddings or business meetings.

The Dallas World Aquarium is home to numerous nature exhibits. Guests can stroll beside 40-foot waterfalls that house numerous parrot species, manatees and even vampire bats. There is a 40-foot tunnel that visitors can walk through to view sharks and stingrays up close as they swim over the tunnel. A hummingbird area offers views of the tiny birds up close. There are numerous on-site restaurants available, and there are areas of the aquarium that are available for rent and catering special events, such as weddings.
